CompuSec® Pocket is the security product to comprehensively protect your Pocket PC. CompuSec® Pocket is developed for all PDAs using the Microsoft Pocket PC operating system. The product is free for all users. This includes private users, corporations and other organizations. For larger customers, CompuSec® Pocket can be centrally managed by using a GlobalAdmin station or the GlobalAdmin Lite Software.

Access Control
Access Control uses a password and a user ID to logon to the PDA. If the user has forgotten his password, a secret password reset code which is defined at installation time can be used to change the password and re-logon. With GlobalAdmin station, a central help desk can be used to reset forgotten passwords remotely. Passwords have a change strategy, either by limiting the number of uses or the number of days since last change or a combination of both. The access control system of CompuSec® Pocket provides a complexity check algorithm to avoid simple passwords and keeps an encrypted history of previously used passwords to guarantee that the user is using new passwords whenever a change is enforced.

Data Encryption
Data Encryption is the major mechanism to keep the data secret. The encryption uses the AES algorithm with a 256 bit key length to protect the data files. Data files are stored in encrypted volumes. These volumes can be in the main memory of the PDA or on external devices like a Flash memory. The encryption is transparent to the user and processed at a very fast speed.

Lock Feature
CompuSec® Pocket provides two methods of locking the PDA through device lock and logoff. When the user chooses to lock the PDA device, CompuSec® Pocket will display a full screen dialog that requests the user to re-enter the password to regain access to it. In this method, all processes will remain running and connections will be maintained. However, when the user chooses to logoff the PDA, all CompuSec® related keys will be removed and the CompuSec® driver for the container encryption will be unloaded. In this method, all running processes will be halted and the device will be turned off.

Installation
Installation of CompuSec® Pocket can be done in various ways. If you use CompuSec® Pocket in a large organization, an automated installation process via the company network is available. GlobalAdmin then manages the keys and the installation data. If you are an individual user, the CD based installation using Active Sync is just perfect.
